Mayer Brown, a leading law firm in the world, has been recognized as one of 2010 Top Ten Family-Friendly Company Law by Yale Law Females, Yale Law School student organization dedicated to advancing the interests of females in law school & legal profession. Mayer Brown is one of only six companies that also make the list in 2009. Yale Law Females of firms surveyed in 2009 “the Vault Top 100 Law Firms” & selected companies that are leaders in developing & practicing family-friendly policies for lawyers.
Innovative policies initiated by the company in this list included groups of work-family balance, childcare in place as well as a part-time work schedule. “We are proud to one times again be included in the list of Top Ten Yale Law Females,” said Mayer Brown Chairman Bert Krueger. “We understand the difficult challenges that lots of lawyers face in balancing work & home life. Mayer Brown offers a variety of support programs to help lawyers manage the challenges & align our personal & professional life.” Family-friendly programs offered to Mayer Brown’s U.S. lawyers include: part-time employment opportunities; backup child care services; 18 weeks pregnant & paid leave for parents of new parents & lift, & training programs to provide support to new parents returning to work of birth, sister, & left the adoption. In addition, Mayer Brown is a founding member & sponsor of the project for Attorney Retention, which works to stem friction lawyers in large firms by promoting life balance & the advancement of females in the legal profession.
