Kravis (Tulsa, (Oklahoma) January 6, 1944) was an American financier and investor. He is known for creating the company’s most famous private equity, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. has a capacity of approximately U.S. $ 2600 million, and by Forbes in 2006 at number 107 richest places on earth. Henry Kravis studied economics at Claremont (California) and earned his MBA in 1969 at Columbia University. He began his career with several small businesses in New York before he and his cousin George R. Roberts at investment bank Bear Stearns went to work.
Henry Kravis worked under Jerome Kohlberg. Henry Kravis was vice president of Katy Industries. This company was the first company where he started his career and became a designer for their acquisition program. His career gained more success when he and two colleagues founded Kohlberg Kravis Robert & Co. With the establishment of this company, Henry Kravis and more developed private equity acquisitions by private equity. Henry Kravis is now serving some of the board of directors of the company and he also founded the New York City Investment Fund. Currently, Henry Kravis Prize is given to people who have made major changes in their communities.
